What Women Need to Know About Health Insurance
March 5, 2010By Beth Reitler
According to an article in "The Nation" by Sharon Lerner a startling number of women are going without health insurance. One major factor is that women are 60% more likely to work part time jobs--and part time employment does not typically qualify individuals for health benefits. Given the high unemployment rate in Richland County, Ohio--I'm sure this is true for many women here too....
If you are a woman going without health insurance--there are options you need to know about:
Individual Health Plans--the type that is purchased by private individuals might be an option for you. There are many different plans to choose from so you can find the coverage and premiums that fit your unique needs. Maternity coverage has often been a difficult benefit to find when insured through individual plans. However, some insurers are decreasing these optional benefits so that they are an affordable option.
At Reitler Insurance, our licensed health agents will work with you to help you find the right plan for your unique needs. We partner with all the leading health insurance companies--so you can comparatively shop for plans with one agent answering all your questions along the way.
